McIntosh
Amplifiers, preamplifiers, processors, streamers, turntables, and loudspeakers from Binghamton, New York, designed into the listening room, the cinema, and the whole house.
Credentials & Experience
Cave Group is an authorized McIntosh dealer. We design, install, calibrate, and support McIntosh systems, and we integrate them with Crestron control and Lutron lighting so the listening room is part of the house.
McIntosh Laboratory has built audio equipment in Binghamton, New York since 1949, when Frank H. McIntosh and Gordon Gow founded the company; the blue meters, the Autoformer, and the patented Power Guard circuitry are its signatures, and since November 2024 the McIntosh Group has been part of Bose Corporation. Cave Group sells and installs the full line: power amplifiers, preamplifiers, home theater audio-video processors, music streamers, turntables, and loudspeakers, in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, the Hamptons, Austin, Hawaii, and Europe.
Why McIntosh
The Reason We Install It
A McIntosh system is bought for the way it sounds and kept for decades, which is why the room matters as much as the rack. We plan the listening room with the architect and the interior designer: speaker placement and the geometry around it, acoustic treatment that disappears into the finishes, power that is clean and sized for the amplifiers, and a rack with the ventilation McIntosh equipment deserves.
Then it joins the house. The McIntosh front end becomes a source on the Crestron system, so one keypad or one touch screen chooses the record, the stream, or the film, the Lutron scene dims the room, and the shades close, without a second remote and without touching the amplifier's own controls when the owner does not want to.
We calibrate on site, document every connection and setting, and support the system under Cave Watch, so a software update on a streamer or a change to the Crestron program never leaves the listening room silent.
What We Do
McIntosh Capabilities
Two-Channel Listening Rooms
Integrated or separate amplification, a preamplifier and a streamer or turntable, speakers placed to the room, treated and powered properly.
Home Theater Processors
McIntosh audio-video processors at the center of a cinema or media room, with video distribution and control on Crestron.
Power and Preamplifiers
Power amplifiers and preamplifiers specified to the speakers and the room, with the power delivery and ventilation they require.
Streamers and Turntables
Music streamers and turntables set up, networked where they need to be, and selectable from the house's own control system.
Loudspeakers
McIntosh loudspeakers placed and voiced to the room, or paired with the client's existing speakers after we listen together.
Crestron and Lutron Integration
The McIntosh system as a source on Crestron; lighting and shade scenes on Lutron for listening and for film.
Calibration, Documentation, Support
Set up on site, every setting documented, supported under Cave Watch.
