Salto is the global standard for electronic access control in luxury hospitality. The locks retrofit onto existing doors without rewiring, the keys are issued from a cloud dashboard or directly through the PMS, and the entire system integrates cleanly with the rest of a property's technology stack. Cave Group has installed Salto across hotels in NYC, MDUs in NJ Bergen County, and residential properties throughout the Northeast.
Why Salto
The Reason We Install It
Salto's biggest advantage is retrofit. Most electronic access systems require pulling new wiring back to a central panel — destructive in occupied buildings and impossible in many historic properties. Salto's offline locks store credentials internally and update from each card swipe, so you can deploy a 200-room hotel without rewiring a single door. For renovations and historic restorations, that's the difference between a project that's possible and one that isn't.
For hospitality, Salto is the only access control system with deep, certified PMS integration. Opera Cloud, Mews, StayNTouch, and Protel all push check-in events directly to Salto — guests get mobile keys on their phones the moment they arrive at the property, no front desk visit required. Pair that with Lutron myRoom XC for guest room scenes and you have a check-in experience that genuinely feels luxury.
And Salto KS — the cloud-managed version — gives single-property hotels and MDU residences the same enterprise capabilities without the on-site server. We can manage credentials, audit access logs, and revoke keys remotely from anywhere. For Premium support clients we monitor the Salto dashboard alongside their UniFi Access and Lutron systems.
