Service & Takeover
Savant
Service, programming, and takeover for existing Savant systems, with a planned path to Crestron when a system reaches the end of its support.
Credentials & Experience
Cave Group services and takes over existing Savant systems. New systems are designed around Crestron for control and Lutron for lighting and shades; we are a Crestron Elite Gold Partner and Lutron Gold Dealer.
If your house runs on Savant and the company that installed it is gone, slow, or unable to fix it, Cave Group takes it over. We document the system, recover or rebuild the programming, replace failed hosts, remotes, and touch screens, stabilize the network underneath, and support the result under Cave Watch. When a Savant system can no longer be supported, we plan a replacement on Crestron that reuses the wiring, speakers, and Lutron lighting already in the house. New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, the Hamptons, Austin, and Europe.
Why Savant
The Reason We Install It
A Savant system is only as supportable as the company behind it. Integrators close, programmers move on, and the owner is left with a house that half works and no one who will answer. That is the call we take most often about Savant: not a sales call, a service call. The first visit is a survey, because a system nobody documented cannot be fixed by guessing.
We keep what deserves keeping. Lutron lighting and shades stay and are re-integrated. In-wall and in-ceiling speakers, amplifiers, displays, cabling, and racks stay. What gets replaced is what has failed or is no longer supported: a host, a remote family, a touch screen, a legacy video switch, the consumer router someone left under the stairs.
When the honest answer is that the system has reached its end, we say so and plan the move to Crestron in phases, so the house never goes dark between one platform and the next. The same team then supports it, which is the point: one number that answers, whatever the platform was called when the house was built.
What We Do
Savant Capabilities
Survey and Documentation
Every device, every cable, every program file we can recover, written down. The survey is what makes the rest of the work predictable.
Programming Recovery and Rebuild
Scenes, schedules, and interfaces restored where the files exist, rebuilt where they do not, with the owner's actual habits as the spec.
Hardware Replacement
Failed or unsupported hosts, remotes, touch screens, and video distribution replaced with current, supported equipment.
Network Stabilization
A UniFi network under the control system, with VLANs for control, AV, cameras, and guests, so the system stops failing at the router.
Lutron Lighting Kept
HomeWorks and RadioRA lighting and shades stay, re-integrated with the control system, keypads re-engraved where the scenes changed.
Planned Migration to Crestron
When support ends, a phased move to Crestron 4-Series control that reuses the house's wiring, speakers, displays, and lighting.
Cave Watch Support
Round-the-clock remote monitoring, remote fixes, priority response, and an annual health check, from the day of the takeover.
