Cave Group does. We are a Crestron Elite Gold Partner and Lutron Gold Dealer with an office in Fairview, in the same county. We take over and upgrade existing systems, and we design new ones for houses being built or rebuilt.
Our house has a Crestron system from the 2000s. Replace it or upgrade it?+–
Usually upgrade. The processor and the touchscreens are what age; the wiring, the keypad locations, and most of the speakers are still good. We replace the processor with a current 4-Series model, update the interfaces, and rewrite the programming, typically with the walls closed.
The lights work. Why would we touch the Lutron system?+–
Because on the day a processor fails, replacement parts for an older HomeWorks generation may no longer exist. Moving to HomeWorks QSX on a schedule you choose keeps the keypads and the wiring, and avoids doing it as an emergency.
Can you get Wi-Fi to the pool, the dock, and the far end of the yard?+–
Yes. Outdoor access points are wired back to the house in conduit, or by fiber for longer runs, and they belong to the same managed network as the ones indoors, so a call or a speaker does not drop when you walk outside.
Do you work with builders on teardowns here?+–
Yes. We give the builder a rough-in scope and milestones, coordinate with the electrician, and return for trim and programming. If you have not chosen a builder yet, we can tell you what to ask each one about low-voltage work.
