The Hamptons · Sag Harbor, New York
Smart Home, Lighting & AV in Sag Harbor.
Whaling-era houses in a village historic district, a board that reviews what the street sees, and a harbor that brings the yachts. Sag Harbor wants technology that disappears into an old house and reaches the dock.
Sag Harbor, Specifically
Old Houses, Hidden Systems.
Sag Harbor's village historic district covers the whaling-era core, and the Village's Historic Preservation and Architectural Review Board rules on what changes on the outside of a house. Inside, these are the oldest houses on the East End: plaster, timber, and small rooms that reward wireless lighting control, keypads that look like switches, and shades that fit the window.
On the water the job turns to the dock and the boat. The village sits between the Towns of Southampton and East Hampton, and a Sag Harbor house often comes with a yacht that wants the same network, the same control, and the same monitoring as the house; our marine division builds those too.
01 · Review
The Street Side
Exterior fixtures, cameras, and anything on the facade in the historic district go before the Historic Preservation and Architectural Review Board. We draw those pieces for the application and keep everything else inside.
02 · Old Houses
Wireless Where the Plaster Stays
Lutron's wireless keypads and dimmers replace the existing switches, Ketra lamps fit the existing fixtures, and battery shades fit the window, so a nineteenth-century house gets a modern system without opening its walls.
03 · Harbor
The House and the Boat
Wi-Fi that reaches the dock, cameras on the slip, and a boat that joins the house's network when it ties up. Our marine division integrates Crestron, Starlink, and audio on the yachts themselves.

Sag Harbor, Answered
Who installs Lutron and Crestron systems in Sag Harbor?+–
Cave Group does. We are a Crestron Elite Gold Partner and Lutron Gold Dealer with an office in Long Island City, our Hamptons work includes a Southampton waterfront residence completed in 2024, and our marine division integrates the yachts that tie up in the harbor.
Can an old Sag Harbor house get lighting control without opening the walls?+–
Usually, yes. Lutron's wireless dimmers and keypads replace the existing switches, Ketra lamps fit the existing fixtures, and motorized shades run on battery, so plaster and timber stay closed. What we check first is the electrical service, because the oldest houses on the East End often have the least capacity.
Does the village review cameras and outdoor lighting?+–
In the historic district, yes: the Historic Preservation and Architectural Review Board rules on exterior changes. We draw the exterior devices for the application and keep the equipment inside, where the board has no say.
Can the boat share the house's system?+–
Yes. Wi-Fi that reaches the dock, cameras on the slip, and a boat that joins the house's network when it ties up are standard for us, and our marine division builds the Crestron, Starlink, and audio systems on the yachts themselves.
What internet is available in Sag Harbor?+–
Across much of the East End, Optimum is the only wired provider and there is no Verizon Fios. We confirm what reaches the address, and we design the network with Starlink or a second carrier as automatic failover, so the cameras, the remote access, and the house itself survive a cut.
