Who installs lighting control and AV in Demarest, NJ?+–
Cave Group does. We are a Lutron Gold Dealer and Crestron Elite Gold Partner with an office in Fairview, in the same county. In Demarest we work mostly on new houses, with the builder during construction and with the owner afterwards.
We are a builder with a spec house in Demarest. What should we pre-wire?+–
Conduit from the street and between floors, a ventilated equipment room with dedicated power, network cable to the access-point and television locations, speaker wiring in the main rooms, and shade power at the large windows. For lighting, decide early whether the house will have centralized panels or conventional switching that can take wireless control later.
We bought a new house that was pre-wired. Can you finish it?+–
Yes. We trace and label what the builder installed, tell you what it can support, and complete the system from there. A good pre-wire saves a great deal; a poor one we can usually work around.
Does the lighting designer or the integrator choose the fixtures?+–
The lighting designer, if you have one, and for a house at this level we recommend that you do. Our part is to make sure every fixture can be dimmed properly by the control system and that the scenes do what the designer intended.
Who supports the system after move-in?+–
We do. Cave Watch is our support program: round-the-clock remote monitoring of the network, control system, audio-video, and lighting, remote fixes and software updates, priority response, and an annual health check. Central-station alarm monitoring and live guard video monitoring can be added to the same plan.
